Nichole Pietrantoni


Nicole Pietrantoni is currently working on her M.F.A. in printmaking at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she is a Dean’s Graduate Fellow.  A native of the Chicago area, she spent the past several years living in Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned her undergraduate degree in art history and human and organizational development at Vanderbilt University and worked for nonprofit arts organizations and a research center for cultural policy.  She studied art at the Lorenzo De Medici Institute in Florence, Italy, and the Penland School of Crafts, and has traveled throughout the United States, Europe, and Iceland.  Nicole most recently worked at the Tennessee Arts Commission as the director of the visual art program where she administered grants for artists and nonprofit arts organizations and curated the Commission gallery.  An occasional art critic and juror, she also serves on the board of the Southern Graphics Council.  Nicole has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is recipient of a Margaret Stonewall Wooldridge Hamblet Fellowship, an award for emerging artists, and a residency from the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust.
