Chenicek holds an M.F.A. in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a mixed-media artist whose work is concerned with the physical, emotional and psychological wounds that can permeate families and the ways in which children cope with their feelings of anxiety, helplessness and hurt. She uses mixed-media in combination with painted landscape images to explore how the mind processes painful events.
